  This is how you know you're here. Although everybody in the foothills knows how to access Elk Meadow (formerly Means Meadow), there are many people who come here from all around to hike, mountain bike and ride their horses.This 1140 acres was saved from development in 1986 by the efforts of many individuals, including "activist" Sheila Clarke. So many people (including Boofy and myself) are thankful that we have this beautiful place to commune with nature instead of a sprawling shopping center in which to get mugged. Very strong individuals fought long and hard to keep these natural spots open for everyones enjoyment.
